Integrative Medicine
A holistic GP considers the whole picture
Dr Orla Teahan is a GP with over 20 years experience in General Practice. Over the years Orla has extended her conventional medical training in a number of key areas including nutritional and environmental medicine, meditation, mindfulness and expressive art therapies in order to be able to broaden the range of options she can offer to facilitate restoring health and wellbeing. Orla does not replace your existing GP but offers another perspective for complex conditions where the standard approaches may not have been effective.
When Orla started on this path there was no word for it! Now this style of medicine is known as 'Integrative Medicine’- a term that describes a combination of the best of conventional western medicine and evidence-based complementary medicine. The aim being to utilize the most appropriate treatment to meet an individuals health needs.
An Integrative GP considers the whole picture: your physical, psychological, social and spiritual wellbeing and has a keen focus on illness prevention and boosting wellbeing.
Most importantly, Orla is a GP who likes to establish a positive collaborative partnership with her clients. Restoring wellbeing means enabling and empowering people to be the best versions of themselves and to take control of their health and journey to wellness.
Please note that Orla requires all of her patients to have their own standard GP, she gives support as an ‘add on’ GP.
